The Cullman County Child Development Center recently received a $10,000 donation from the Angling for Autism Bass Fishing Tournament. The tournament proceeds benefit local programs that bring awareness to autism and provide education and other opportunities to special needs children and families.
"We are so grateful for the generous donation from all who participated with Anglers for Autism," said Trett Hardman, CDC Principal. "With these funds, we will be able to better meet the academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of all students on our campus by providing them with state of the art classroom technology that provides educational experiences adapted to our students here at the CDC. Our teachers, staff and students are extremely thankful for the monetary support from Anglers for Autism."
In the past, Anglers for Autism has donated to Cullman Therapeutic Recreation, sponsored multiple therapy dogs for individuals as well as provide training for those dogs, and donated to the Cullman Autism and Special Needs Support Group.
"These donations would not be possible without the help and support of numerous local businesses and individuals that make the tournament a success," said Brittany Sams with Anglers for Autism. "The Sams family just raises the money and then facilitates those funds to groups and organizations that bring awareness and opportunities to the special needs community. It is important to know that there are a ton of people that understand the importance of bringing awareness to our special needs community and those people are willing to go above and beyond to help. That willingness is what makes the Cullman City and Cullman County communities special places to live!"
