Information about the dress code for VMS Winter Formal on March 13th, 6:00-9:00, is being sent home today. We will sell tickets starting the last week of February; tickets will be $5.00. We look forward to a great night for all of our students.

Vinemont Middle School is proud to be recognized as a semiquincentennial school. As a semiquincentennial school we actively participate in programs that commemorate America's upcoming 250th anniversary by teaching American history, civics, and the founding principles of the Declaration of Independence, fostering informed, engaged citizens through special projects and curriculum. This initiative is part of state-level "America250" program that aims to deepen students' understanding of U.S. history, democracy, and their role in the community.

This past week Vinemont Eagle Band Students participated in the Cullman County Honor Band at Wallace State Community College by preparing an audition amongst their peers in Cullman County and Cullman City.
Students Abigail Wang (clarinet), Grady Tankersley (mallets), and Brianna Baker (flute) earned first chair in their section.
Rayne Baker (clarinet), Luke Wang (snare), Stevi Worthington (mallets), and Sophia Veal (alto saxophone) earned top 25% in their section. Fellow participants are Emi Heaton (alto saxophone) and Yolanda Andreas (trombone).
We are so proud of our VMS students --Brianna, Luke, Sophia & Yolanda--who earned these honors!

Thank you to Cassidy Pettey, Labor and Delivery Nurse from Huntsville Hospital for Women’s and Children, for coming to speak on Coach Riddle’s Career Prep “Podcast”! Nurse Pettey shared her journey through nursing school and what led her to a career in nursing, gave students a glimpse into the day-to-day life of a nurse, and provided hands-on instruction in CPR, stethoscope use, and blood pressure monitoring. We are grateful for Nurse Pettey, and for all of our incredible nurses out there!

Tomorrow, all 7th-grade students in the county will head to Wallace for the American Character curriculum kick-off. This is part of our 7th-grade Civics curriculum, where they will have the chance to work together for a community service project and learn about leadership. They will leave at 8:30 and return here at 10:45. Going to be a great day for our students. -Ch Johnson
