ATTENTION SENIORS!


US Army Special Operations Virtual Reality Simulator visited our CATA Campus today. This simulator travels around the country, giving students the opportunity to visit with recruiters & learn about different opportunities available in the Army.







Students in the Business Program at CATA competed with over 200 teams to earn the right to compete in the Alabama Personal Finance Challenge
sponsored by the Alabama Economic Council for Education. CATA had 2 teams that qualified with one team ultimately finishing 5/22 at the State Competition.

Trane Company visited our HVAC classes today seeking students to enter the Trane Connect Network Program. Thank you for visiting with our students!

Mr. Heath Laney with Joiner Construction of Cullman, recently visited with the Cullman Area Technology Academy Construction Program. Mr. Laney talked to the students about building projects that his company is undertaking in the Huntsville area including the new regional FBI headquarters. He also took the time to show the students some tips on installed vinyl siding.



Today, Students are learning to program CNC Machines in our Precision Machining Program.

This week is Assistant Principal Appreciation week and we want to give a special shout out to Mrs. Speegle! We appreciate all she does here at CATA!


We’re absolutely thrilled to share some heartwarming news that’ll surely make your day brighter! Our CATA students have rallied together to collect 250 boxes of cereal to donate to Cullman Caring for Kids.
To end the “Hunger Doesn’t Take a Break” initiative students set up the boxes of cereal like dominoes and enjoyed celebrating their amazing work!
A huge shoutout and thanks to each and every student who contributed to this remarkable initiative. Your kindness will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of those in need within our community.

Congratulations to Blake Hammond, Precision Machine student for placing 2nd at SkillsUSA District competition at WSCC on Friday.


Special shout out to WallZone in Cullman for their generous donation of vinyl siding to the CATA construction technology program! They have also donated lots of lumber and other materials to CATA construction. We appreciate our industry partners!

We want to give a special thanks to The Daniel Foundation of Alabama for their continued support of our school! We are grateful for the $25,000.00 grant we received!


Our Precision Machining students are learning to write a code for creating machined parts using our HAAS control simulators. They are given a blue print of the part and then they use math to figure how much material needs to be removed and then program the code into the Haas controller. We also have other students learning to create parts on our metal lathes. We are excited to learn that we are getting four new metal lathes. Thanks to Dr. Shane Barnette and TJ Franey for writing and acquiring grants for our new lathes. It's a great day for CATA! #wecreate






Our HVAC students are using troubleshooting skills today to repair HVAC units. They are using multimeters and gauges to find problems. This simulates a service call to a customer.
